Since 2010, I have worked with a group of sneakers lovers in Nashville, TN to help promote their event Sneakers X Speakers. SXS is a yearly sneaker event where lovers of fresh kicks come together to buy, sell, and trade sneakers all while listening to the best little-known local hip-hop talent. I have created flyers, sponsorship decks, and even logos for t-shirts and other promotional materials, and even implemented 2 versions of their website.
Currently, I work for an organization called Million Women Mentors as their State Programs Manager. Million Women Mentors aims to get 1 million mentors for girls and women in STEM. Along with my management duties, I am responsible for creating necessary MWM collateral. I have created everything from toolkits and posters for State Leadership, to a 40 page booklet featuring reports on 30+ states, and even a proposal document for MWM and partner organizations - a document designed and written by me.
For nearly 3 years, I was the Creative Director at SupplyHog, a startup focused on the construction industry. Working with members from all areas of the company, I led the design team through several redesigns of the fully responsive website and user optimizations. My team was also responsible for all print collateral and presentations. Here are some selected works from the last iteration of the website during my time there, along with a t-shirt design and email marketing templates.
Over the past few months, I have begun writing about the one of the things I love to do most - try new things. My friends know if I've done it, I've got an opinion about it and I love being able to share that. The things that held me (and a lot of people) back from experiencing all the world has to offer has to do with the unknowns. Thinking back, most new experiences could have went a lot better had I known more going in, which is what I try to give my readers with my posts. Worthy or Waste has helped me get over my fears, push myself to do things I never thought I would (like go to Six Flags ALONE!) and share my experiences.
It's a passion project and I love doing it.

Photography is a series of small challenges. How do I make what interests me, interesting to others and each shot is an opportunity to do just that.
Not to mention, after sitting in front of a computer for hours each week, I am itching to go out and explore - camera in hand.
Society tells women they have to be confident and happy with who they are, yet bombards them with ways to fix their flaws, hide their imperfections and boost their confidence. Mixed signals are being sent through interactions with mediums of popular culture and even personal relationships. Embracing the imperfections and refusing to hide them results in struggles with modern views of femininity. Buying into these views puts women in an accepted place in society, but at what cost?

The CO.LAB in Chattanoooga, TN hosts an event called 48-Hour launch where teams have 48 hours to form and execute on a project or idea. During the 48 hours they collaborate on a single idea, completing as many necessary components as possible all while preparing for a presentation at the end of the event.
I worked on a team whose product was CHActive, an app that would all users to post pick up games and allow other people in the area to participate. I worked closely with the team leader to advise the brand creation, and then created mockups for the simple website promoting the app.
During my junior year of college, we worked with Dalewood Middle School in Chattanooga. Over a course of 24 hours we worked on various projects for the school and utilized the power of design to show the school's potential. I worked on an updated website design that met the needs of the students, parents, and teachers of the school. After the event, I created a 50 page packet that was used to attempt to secure funding for the projects created over 24 hours.
